WATT Application for Membership

To Join WATT, read the following and email your application to Rong Qu.

Membership of WATT is free of charge and open to:

  • Anyone with a degree in Computer Science, Operational Research (or related subject) who has an interest in automated timetabling research.

  • Any administrators or practitioners in the field who do not fall into category (1).
  • Students who may not yet have a degree but are working on the problem.

  1. Items marked with a * are mandatory. Other items are optional but plesae supply them if you can
  2. Please note that in order to avoid spam, we will require that you provide an email address from your organisation.

Benefits of membership include:

  • An updated list of members with contact addresses. This will provide a useful starting point for contacting possible collaborators on European funding proposals, authors of papers etc.
  • A digest of up-to-date timetabling news. We send this out to members at regular intervals.
  • There is an annual meeting of the group. These meetings are held during the PATAT series of International Conferences and the WATT workshops alternating each year.
  • EURO may help with travel expenses for attending these meetings for members from Eastern European countries and for student members.
  • There is an WWW automated timetabling bibliography (which has already been compiled and we are currently transferring it to the WWW).
  • The WATT discussion list watt@cs.nott.ac.uk serves as a forum to share ideas, experiences and opinions about a particular topic between WATT members. These discussions are archived here for later reference. . This moderated email list is also used to make announcements.
